Why it matters

NERIS 1.5 took effect October 1, 2026. Every change is additive and no new field is required, so existing reports stay valid. The new options let crews code calls that used to fall under “other” or end up in the narrative, like ladder use, RIT timing, and non-patient EMS support.

Because the new fields are optional, the data your department gets back depends on crews actually using them. This guide gives you what you need to brief them.
