One of the most potentially nerve-wracking aspects of switching from one software platform to another is the security and integrity of your data. It took you and your team forever to enter data the way you want it—the reports, the history—the blood sweat and tears poured over computer keyboards and tablets. We get it.

We know how much that data means to you and we will protect it with everything we have. We designed our software to elegantly and easily accept data imports—as long as the data coming to us is in the proper format.

COMMON MIGRATION CHALLENGES THAT CAN SLOW THE PROCESS

Make sure your data migration is prepped and ready to go with these tips:

Make sure those preparing the data understand the acceptable data export formats. We will help as best we can to explain what we need and in what format. For example, documents with hand-written data or screenshots won’t migrate—we need data in the form of .csv, Excel .xlsx, SQL or similar database file formats.

Unfortunately, in today’s highly competitive software market, some software providers are locking down their data export options, making it difficult to “leave” their software. So if you plan to move from one provider to another, make sure the provider allows data export.

At EPR, we never lock down our customer’s data. If you need a copy of your database, you can export it any time. We want to make it as easy as possible for our customers to leave and to come back. Off-boarding is as simple and user friendly as possible. No matter what, we’ll always be friends.
